STATE COLLEGE, PA – The State College Macy’s will be closing after 21 years of serving the State College Community.
The State College Store is one of two Pennsylvania stores that Macy’s has decided to close according to a company spokesperson.
Macy’s Director of Media Relations Carolyn Cohen said Monday the department store chain decided to close Macy’s Nittany Store in State College and the Macy’s Harrisburg East Mall store in Harrisburg.
Cohen says a clearance sale will begin in January and run for about 8 to 12 weeks.
Regular and non-seasonal employees who are unable to be placed at a nearby Macy’s store will be eligible for severance, including outplacement resources, Cohen said.
